The Best Screwdrivers At the Best Prices!

Most homes have a tool kit, whether the tools inside are used by the homeowner or not! An essential part of any such kit is the screwdriver, and there seems to be an ever increasing variety of screws today that require different types of screwdriver to drive them in. As with any modern day products the development of the screwdriver is rapid, providing a more effortless means of putting the screws in. But as with anything, it is important that the correct tools are used for the job in hand so you need to choose wisely. If a screwdriver that is not the right size and type for the screw is used, it is likely that the screw will be damaged in the process of tightening it.

That's where we can help, by offering a good selection of products to choose from, so use the Search box if you know what you are looking for, or select from our categories on the left to view the choice. We have even put together a brief guide on the type of screw heads used today to ensure that the screwdriver you select can do the job!

The Screwdriver appears to date back to Germany and France

...where, in the 15th century, it's original name was Schraubendreher (German for screwturner) and tournevis (French for turnscrew). It's development in these early years was not rapid, being entirely dependent on the screw, and it was not until several advances in the production of the screw were made that they became more popular and widespread in their use. During the industrial revolution the brothers Job and William Wyatt found a way to produce screws more economically and this led to an increase in the screws useage, and the resultant need for screwdrivers. This in turn set in motion the need to develop, diversify and refine both products, something that continues today with the availability of cordless screwdrivers that include many features including varying speeds and even ones that load the screws automatically.
